Portfolio - Chicago Premier Interior Designer Network - The Process

Portfolio - Chicago Premier Interior Designer Network - The Process

1

- Linda Coleman meets personally with the client, usually at their current or new residence. In order to determine which design firms will be most desirable, the clients are first shown 40 generic photographs of different styles of interior design. The photographs are of homes that range from contemporary and country, to modern, classic and traditional. This enables a visual understanding
of individual likes, dislikes, priorities and aesthetics. The meeting typically
takes two hours and the consultation charge is $200.

2
- Portfolio presents a select group of designers individual portfolios. These are chosen to suit the client's demonstrated style preferences, priorities and personal vision. Discussion focuses on how various design firms work, budget parameters and the differences between Decorators versus Interior Designers, and Architects versus Design/Build firms. This ensures a complete understanding of the process, the fee structures and realistic expectations.

3
- Together, Portfolio and the client narrow the choices and interviews are arranged with the interior design finalists. Portfolio receives feedback from both the client and the design firms, and will help sort priorities and negotiate the best Contract possible.

4
- The contractual process is finalized and the client begins to work with their
favorite Design Firm.

5
- The clients successfully complete their project and are living in their "dream
home."
